Timloc Building Products, has donated 180 Hedgehog Highways to Snaith Primary School in East Yorkshire, helping to support wildlife education and local hedgehog conservation.
The donation will enable the school to introduce pupils to the importance of protecting Britain’s native hedgehog population, which has declined significantly in recent decades due to habitat loss, fencing and increased road traffic. Hedgehog Highways are small access points that allow hedgehogs to move freely between gardens and green spaces, reducing the need to cross busy roads and helping them find food, water and shelter.
By receiving the Hedgehog Highways, Snaith Primary School has the opportunity to install them within the school grounds or distribute them within the local community, helping to create a connected, hedgehog‑friendly environment while also encouraging learning about biodiversity and conservation.
Georgia Fry, Marketing Executive at Timloc Building Products, commented:
“We are delighted to support Snaith Primary School with this donation. Educating young people about wildlife conservation is vital, and something as simple as a Hedgehog Highway can spark important conversations about how small actions can make a real difference.”
Timloc looks forward to seeing how the school uses the Hedgehog Highways and hopes the project will inspire pupils, families and the wider community to think about how they can help support local wildlife.
