Timloc Building Products Donates Over £2,500 To Hedgehog Charities

With every purchase of the Hedgehog Highway by Timloc, a donation is made to hedgehog charities and organisations.

As part of our commitment to helping build a greener future, Timloc Building Products, part of the Alumasc Group plc, produced a hedgehog highway to help tackle the declining number of hedgehogs across the UK.

The Hedgehog Highway by Timloc has been designed to connect gardens, enabling hedgehogs to roam freely and forage for food and shelter without restriction.

Hedgehogs are classified as vulnerable to extinction in the UK, with the biggest causes being a loss of habitat and a rise in road incidents. This is why installing Hedgehog Highways in both new and existing housing developments is essential.

Issy Cooke, Marketing Executive at Timloc Building Products, commented:

“The population of hedgehogs in the UK has seen a dramatic decline. In the 1950s there were approximately 30 million thriving in our countryside and, according to current research, this number has dropped to a shocking 1 million. In the ‘State of Britain’s Hedgehogs 2022’ report there was an indication of a positive upturn as hedgehog numbers appear to be stabilising in urban areas, highlighting the importance of enabling hedgehogs to roam freely.”

Hedgehog rescues play a major role in helping to tackle the decline by rescuing, rehabilitating and releasing sick and injured hedgehogs.

For every Hedgehog Highway purchased, a donation is made by Timloc Building Products to a hedgehog rescue or charity and, to date, over £2,500 has been donated far and wide across the UK.

• Darwen Hedgehog Rescue, Darwen

The most recent non-profit organisation to receive the latest donation is Caerphilly Hedgehog Rescue in Wales.
